Robots that vacuum and clean offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris and wet mess in one session without the need to switch devices. They can also save space compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will have excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models that have docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, replenish their water tanks and machine-wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has a lot to offer at a affordable price, and it’s one of the easiest robots we’ve tested to set up. Unpacking is simple and the quick-start manual can get you up and running in no time with the complete dust bag, water tank and hard floor solution.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. The mops spin at a high speed and utilize 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to quickly get rid of pet hair, dirt and robots that vacuum and mop sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, a variety of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app that lets you select the type of cleaning you’d like for each room.
For instance, you can decide to let the robot take care of a thorough clean-up in the living and kitchen but be careful with the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro’s front colision sensors and smart navigation tech are superb, with the robot being capable of detecting small obstacles that other models struggle with. Its only issue is that it tends to hit walls and objects at a high speed. However an inspection of the history of cleaning in the app will show you precisely what the robot has done, where it is going, and which obstacles it has encountered or avoided.
A convenient LCD screen on the docking station shows you when maintenance jobs are required like emptying the debris tray, and cleaning the dirty water tank. It also mixes detergent into the water tank by itself with a 600ml of eufy solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum come with a long-running time. The mop is able to run for 184 minutes in Quiet Mode, and the vacuum can last 136 mins in normal mode, before needing to recharge or returning back to the base. The app is simple to use and intuitive, robot mop allowing you to look at every aspect of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company’s flagship robot vacuum and mop. The model of this year features an agitator that doubles as its mopping pad. This increases the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction capacity which allows it to pull up finer hairs and other debris other robotic cleaners could miss.
Like the other two Roborock models I’ve tried the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology which help it avoid walls, furniture and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by incorporating a dual camera that can detect objects and determine whether they are a wall or another type of surface. It then can alter its path automatically and clean around the objects, without missing a step.
This is the most expensive of the three models I’ve examined, but it’s also the most feature-packed. Its sleek, angular style is attractive and it only has three physical buttons that include the power button which also resumes cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock; and a home button that can send the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid can be opened to reveal a 350ml trash bin and 200ml of water tank. The water tank automatically empties and the bin auto-refills.
The only downside I found in this model was the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. You can replace the mopping cloth when needed, but it’s difficult to take the mount off for washing manually. I’ve observed that any carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener on mounts, which can cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a range of clever features, including support for Google Home and automatic vacuum Cleaner Amazon Alexa. You can set up and manage these via the Roborock app that is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to schedule cleanings, track battery life and component maintenance. You’ll need to jump through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. This is a shame considering the performance otherwise.

4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available on the market. However, it has a number of features that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub, which is a new feature in its mop, utilizes two mop heads with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is more than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can remove pet hair and small dirt particles and also pick up spills and wet spots.
The mop is also dried and cleaned inside the base station after every use. This is a great feature because it prevents mould and unpleasant odours from accumulating in storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature that we haven’t seen before on other robot mop or vacuum models. It could be a great method to keep your home cleaner longer.
There’s a plethora of options available that include the possibility to schedule cleaning appointments and adjust a number of different preferences. They can be set through the app, or via direct buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and provides a variety of options for customising the cleaning process, and there are many features that other robots don’t include, for instance, the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power when it detects dust particles, instead of relying on the manual setting.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most fashionable robots we’ve seen in the market, sporting metallic and white design that is elegant and stylish. It’s a little heavier than some of the other two-in-1 robots on this list – at around 4kg however it’s not overly heavy either, and it is sturdy and well-built. Mopping is well-designed and the double-rotating mop works well on hard floors or in corners. They can even extend up to 2mm of baseboards due to the MopExtend feature which is a nice feature.
