You will need to remove your existing handles and dismantle the lock case if you are upgrading to dual spindle levers for your handle as this will require an additional split cylinder inline. It is a good thing to loosen the screws that are holding your door handle, and then check the mechanism. If the screws are too tight, you may need to loosen them further. After that, you can take the spindle from the door handle and replace it with your new Upvc handle. Before screwing the handle into position, it is a good idea to check that it is in the proper place. You can do this by placing your finger into the space between the door frame and the window handle repairs to make sure it is level.

Lever/Lever

It is also recommended to apply a threadlocking adhesive to the threads of the screw to increase the grip and stop them from loosening over time.

Drooping lever handles on door handles could be the result of various causes. The most common cause is that the fixings have been over tightened and are putting stress on the bearings of the lever, causing it to bind against the door face. It could also be that the levers may not have been adjusted at the right angle, which stretches the latch mechanism, preventing it from fully springing into motion.

Another common cause is that the sprung lever is not functioning properly and this is usually due to the sprung not being in the right position within the backplate. To check whether the handle has returned to horizontal, simply operate it.

It is important to fix any door handles that are loose immediately. This could cause excessive wear on the screws and the handle might be able to fall off the base plate. You should also tighten any loose screws regularly to stop them from becoming looser.

Lever/Snib
