World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Upgrades to items are a method to boost the stats of an item. Depending on the type of upgrade you choose, it may increase the rarity of an item or mark Level, and also boost other stats.

Upgrading equipment in The War Within requires a specified number of Flightstones and Crests Each Best item upgrade comes with an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the price of the next item by a specified amount.

Item Level

The value of an item’s basic stats increases as it is upgraded. This value is the sum of an item’s upgraded perks (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrading items can be expensive dependent on the upgrader and the kind of upgrade you decide to do. This is because of how many perks have to be replaced to allow the item to be upgraded.

The level of an item is a commonly used measurement of power and is visible on all item tooltips. It also serves to limit the amount of PvP gear players can use, since PvP is limited at lower levels. Players can view their average level of items on their character sheet.

Using the item level can help players compare the potency of gear when choosing to buy or sell. It’s an indicator of the damage and quality. Comparing items in the inventory of a vendor is possible using the item level.

On PC, you are able to check the level of the item using ALT, or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will display the complete description of the item, as well as its level. It can also be found by hovering over an item using the mouse cursor, and then typing /itemlevel in chat.

There are various theories on how the item level calculation is done. One theory is that the item level is a number derived from a formula that determines the value of an item’s stats are worth. It takes into consideration that different perks are valued differently, and that gems in the sockets increase the item’s value. This process could result in a calculated amount for the item’s level, which is usually close to the actual Blizzard item level.

This is not the only factor that affects the ilvl of an item. The level of the area where the item was dropped may change its stats. For example, it could increase the item’s haste, or crit rating. Items dropped in higher-level instances will have a higher ilvl.

Item Stats

The item’s stats can determine the fate of an item for players. The game uses them in many ways to encourage players to not limit themselves to one weapon, and to encourage players to experiment with other weapons. The stats of a base weapon are enhanced by the weapon’s stat modifications, which are themselves increased by the player’s skill.

Upgrades to an item can increase its stats. The rarity of an item determines its upgrade cost. For example, a grey or white item will only be upgraded once, while an item upgrader kit with rare tiers can be upgraded many times, at higher costs.

Another method of altering the stats of an item is to use affixes. They are stat boosters that can be added by the player to an item. Affixes are used to provide items with extra damage or other special capabilities (such as revitalizing dead or reducing cooling downs), or to differentiate them by naming them.

All affixes can be currently re-rolled by selecting them in the upgrade item (http://www.question-ksa.com said in a blog post) window, and pressing the green button. This will cost a specific amount in gold and other items. They can also be used as upgrade gauges, as with other methods of rerolling.

In addition to rerolling affixes, players can also choose which of the available stats to keep on an item after it is upgraded. The possible stat ranges of an item are based on the level of the item upgrade, but every item is guaranteed to have at least one stat within that range, unless it is an item that is unique or a God roll from a raid boss.

Another thing that could change is the possibility to upgrade equipment without having to roll the affixes, or choose which stats to enhance. But, like base equipment, this would have to be carried out on a per-item basis and the item compare interface wouldn’t show all possible stats that were gained or lost at the same time.

Item Luck

A player’s Luck stat stacks up to increase the chances of item discoveries as well as the properties that appear on loot drops, and the intensity of those properties. It does not, however directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It simply gives players the chance to upgrade their gear in earlier waves and is thus more useful in the initial game run than in later ones, as most players prioritize more powerful weapon scaling and defenses over the raw damage gain.

In addition to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the chances of success when upgrading items with the Blacksmith. This isn’t to be confused with the Blacksmith’s overall chance of upgrading that increase with each new level of item. It is also possible to be enhanced by using anti-materials such as the Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields and weapons have a default Luck value of 40. These items can be enhanced with golden ingots, spined leather or oak boards (depending on the type of material used) to give +40 Luck or to increase the Luck of an item up to 140.

Furthermore some items, like the Hollow weapon, which is infused with Hollow can be used to increase the damage of any damage-dealing skill by five percent. These items are available in the shops or made using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades work. However, there are some cash shop items that allow players to boost their chance of success or stop them from losing an item if the upgrade fails.

The rate of success of an upgrade is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage is the chances of successfully upgrading the item and can be enhanced by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. The chance of success can only be increased as much, and the likelihood that an upgrade will fail can’t exceed 100%..

The Luck of an item may influence the success of an upgrade. All items have an initial success rate of 25%, and every item that has Luck increases that chance by an additional 5percent.

It is important to note that upgrade items are rendered above the inventory items, so enchantment glint and other effects may be obscured by the overlays. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
