Costs
There are some costs associated with Best item upgrader upgrades. The first is the upgrade itself. This cost can be expensive and is contingent on the new ilvl of the item and the number of perks it receives. Upgrades to higher levels (such as Explorer to Champion or Veteran to Heroic) are costly.
The other is the cost of the materials needed for an upgrade. These items are usually Power Dices (dropped from monsters 21+), Minerals and Erons or specific Mists of Pandaria or Warlords Of Draenor Quests. These materials are available in the inventory of an upgrade vendor.
It takes time to upgrade an item. Based on the magnitude of the upgrade, it could take anywhere from 8 to 12 hours. In some instances the upgrade can grant additional advantages that can be picked from a list of benefits.
In rare instances the upgrade will only replace the highest-costing benefits.
