Best Lightweight Single Stroller

Travel strollers aren’t any smaller or lighter than this. Its sleek design is easy to fold into a neat rectangle and the wheels spin more smoothly than other models.

It also has a large under-seat storage area and a shoulder carry strap that makes it easier to carry around if you’re not pushing it. But the canopy adjustment can create a lot of noise, which might disturb a sleeping toddler.

1. Contours Itsy

The Contours Itsy is a compact stroller with a lot of features for its size. The back under-seat basket features a spring-loaded mechanism, so you can push the basket down to put a backpack or diaper bag and it will then pop up to secure the contents. It also has an accessory tray for children and an adjustable backrest pad for the seat that offer more options than you normally get on a stroller that is light.

Additionally, it comes with an excellent canopy that is able to open and close to give you the level of sun protection you need, and the handlebar can be adjusted in height in four positions for a comfortable fit. We weren’t too impressed by its ride quality over rough surfaces. We were of the opinion that the suspension and wheels didn’t do a great job of absorbing shocks and bumps.

It’s an ideal travel stroller because it arrives in the box fully assembled and requires only a few steps to make it ready to use. The seat can be pushed back and forward to adjust the recline. It’s a bit flat. Two buttons on the frame allow it to fold and unfold. It also fits into a convenient carrying bag for when it’s not in use. It’s actually one of the smallest strollers we tested, and it easily meets most airlines’ requirements for cabin storage or gate-checking on planes. 2. Kolcraft Cloud Plus

This stroller is an excellent option for those looking for a lightweight travel stroller. It has all the features parents desire in a stroller. This includes all-terrain wheels and front suspension to ensure an easy ride. It’s also very light with a weight of less than 12 pounds. It also has a handy fold that is self-standing and one-hand. It has two cups holders on each tray to accommodate the child and parent.

Its quality, though it is too low and it did not score well in our tests of maneuverability. It also features a flexible frame that makes pushing it across rough terrain seem like lifting a huge weight. This might be fine if you only use the stroller on smooth sidewalks, but for most people, it will likely not provide a comfortable experience.

The Cloud Plus features a three-tiered extended canopy with a peek-aboo window for additional sun protection. The seat is multi-position and can hold children up 50 pounds and features a five-point safety restraint. This is a great option for older toddlers that have outgrown their car seats for infants.

It’s compact and folds in one step. It is able to be collapsed by pressing a button. It also comes with a convenient, foot-activated break that’s easy to create and then release.

However, the handle is a bit lower than many of the other strollers we tested and some parents may be uncomfortable for long durations. It does come with a handle lock to keep it in place when open however. This is an excellent feature if you plan to use the stroller on uneven or rough terrain.

3. Munchkin Sparrow

The Munchkin Sparrow stroller is the ideal travel stroller for parents who are always moving. This compact stroller is a breeze to fold down and up and can easily fit in overhead compartments on planes, as well as in trunks at the amusement park (no need to worry about parking fees). It comes with a carry bag which zips up for easy storage. It can be used from birth with the infant car seat adapter and offers a good amount of coverage in the sun thanks to its canopy (though not as much as the Nuna TRVL or Uppababy Minu V2). The only issue is that some parents find the style to be utilitarian and cheap.

The BabyZen Yoyo+ is a bit more expensive than the other lightweight single running stroller strollers however it was made specifically for luxurious travel and urban living. It’s one of the most easy strollers to fold, and comes with a convenient carry case. It’s got plenty of storage space, including a cupholder. The seat is comfortable for both the adult and child, and reclines to a nearly flat position. This is the only stroller in our list that comes with an adapter for car seats that can allow it to be used with infants. The handlebar isn’t adjustable and could pose an issue for parents who are short.

The UPPAbaby Minu V2 may not be the lightest stroller, but it is packed with great features to make traveling with children easier. The large seat reclines to a flat position, and it comes with additional padding to make those airplane naps more comfortable. The canopy extends to provide good sun protection, and the parent tray is spacious with plenty of storage. It also comes with an adjustable handle that doubles as a footrest when folded. This footrest, however seems vulnerable to damage from baggage handlers.

4. Uppababy Mini V2

Uppababy Minu V2 is a stylish stroller with a top-quality design and high-end. Its compact size allows it to easily navigate narrow streets and tight spaces, however its robust construction means it can take on rough terrain without compromising your child’s safety. The spring-action suspension on the rear and front makes for an even more comfortable ride and its sturdy materials ensure it can endure the wear and tear of daily use. It can also be extended to accommodate other accessories, such as a bassinet and infant car seat.

Even with a baby on hand, the Minu was a breeze to fold and maneuver. Its squat fold, which opens into three sections, was one of the most simple we tried. This makes it possible to be easily tucked away in overhead compartments in planes and public transport. It has a single-action color-coded brake that is easy to use.

The seat comes with an adjustable recline in multiple positions and a single convertible stroller-handed adjustable leg rest, so it’s easy to find the right position for your child. The UPF 50+ canopy lowered quite far to shield Cora’s face from the sun. There is also a medium-sized mesh peek-a-boo window that closes magnetically and adheres to the canopy instead of using noisy Velcro.

With a weight of less than 15 pounds at just under 15 pounds, the Minu is light enough to carry with a built-in carry handle and shoulder strap. It can be put in the trunk of your vehicle and comes with a storage box and Uppababy TravelSafe which extends the manufacturer’s warranty by two years and includes replacements if items are damaged during air travel.

5. Joovy Aire

Joovy is the well-known brand of strollers that makes a variety of models. This stroller is light and ideal for parents who are looking for a sturdy stroller that can take their children. It is easy to maneuver, has plenty of storage space, and is not difficult to fold. This model isn’t suitable for those who want an additional stroller or car seat compatible model. It doesn’t accept infant car seats. Your children must be able sit up on their backs before you can use it.

This stroller is brimming with features and is available at a price that is very reasonable. It scored higher on our maneuverability test than other strollers with similar specifications. It’s an excellent choice for smooth paved surfaces. It has a large parent tray, a canopy, and plenty of storage. The front wheel suspension is a bit stiff, and the handlebar is smaller than average, but it provides a comfortable ride for adults.

If you have twins or two children of different ages, you could discover that a stroller with a side-byside feature is the best single buggy option to move them around. Our favorite is the Joovy Twin Groove, which has a variety of features and a narrow footprint that can be used in places that other side-by-side alternatives won’t.

It has a huge canopy and a peek-aboo window and plenty of storage. It’s a bit heavier than other side-bysides, but it has a decent weight capacity and can handle most children up to 50 pounds. You can add a bassinet on the front of the stroller for newborns.

If you’re looking for a more luxurious version of this stroller the Caboose RS Sit and Stand Stroller is an excellent alternative. It has the same great features and can be fitted out with a bassinet so that you can take your baby home with style from the hospital.
